Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Receptionist/Assistant to join our family friendly dental practice in North Oshawa part time. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office supporting the Office Manager while helping us grow our new practice. This position requires a strong understanding of administrative tasks, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments
  • Manage hygiene and doctor schedules to support smooth patient flow
  • Explain fees, estimates, and payment options, process transactions and submit and follow up on insurance claims
  • Ensure forms, consents, and documentation are completed in compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards
  • Balance end-of-day reports and complete basic office paperwork
  • Maintain accurate patient records using dental software - experience with Oryx is an asset.
  • Answer calls, emails, and messages and address patient questions or concerns
  • Create a calm, friendly, and professional front-desk environment

Experience

  • Previous experience in a dental or medical office preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management abilities
  • Comfortable handling financial conversations with patients
  • Proficient with dental software and basic computer systems
  • Professional, reliable, and patient-focused
  • Experience with high level dental assisting is an asset

Licence/Certification

  • Work Permit in Canada (required)
