The
Regional Sales Manager
is responsible for leading the profitable sales growth of the region by developing market and account plans that focus their team on the best opportunities. Emphasis will be on owners/developers, general & mechanical contractors, specifying engineers, distributors, plumbing contractors and builders.
Manages a team of both direct sales staff and rep organizations to ensure strong relationships with stakeholders across the region. Sets team goals, expectations and sales strategies for growth. Drives utilization of sales tools and pipeline management. Leads the business cadence with standard monthly updates and quarterly business reviews to ensure visibility and accountability for the execution of market and account plans.
Acts as the primary regional sales contact for the Marketing team and collaborates on development and execution of segment strategies.
This is a fully remote position with the ideal candidate located in the
Greater Toronto
market.
What will you be doing?
- Ensure achievement of annual sales and gross profit goals by leading the regional factory sales team and manufacturer representative agencies in developing and executing sales strategies.
- Provide ongoing coaching and development to the factory and agency sales teams on market knowledge, product knowledge, and selling skills. Schedules and holds regular one on one meetings, joint field travel, and team meetings. Schedules and holds regular monthly updates with agency principals and conducts quarterly performance reviews with each agency.
- Utilizes as a tool to communicate and document strategies and actions; conducts regular pipeline reviews with each account manager and mfg rep agency, monitors and coaches individual utilization of to meet business standards. Provides key forecast information to the business through opportunity details. Coordinates the collaboration between Uponor direct and Rep teams and effectively deploys both resources to hit regional goals.
- Develops and maintains executive level relationships with key customers in addition to the rep agency principals. Leverages these relationships to provide market insights to the business.
- Recruits, interviews, selects and onboards new salespeople to the team as needed.
- Seeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in team initiatives; performs other duties as assigned.
What will you need?
- This position requires a Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years' related experience.
- Knowledge of major account selling, and the construction market is required.
- Experience in wholesale distribution and an understanding of the independent manufacturer rep model is strongly preferred.
- Must have excellent communication, planning and presentation skills.
- Self-starter and able to work independently.
- Ability to travel up to 20% annually.
The expected compensation range for this position is $119,523–$169,523 CAD per year. This range represents a good-faith estimate of the anticipated base salary for this role in Ontario. The actual compensation offered may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant skills, education, experience, and work location. Internal equity among current employees is also considered. This range represents the full base salary for the position; hiring at or near the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary progression.
