Job Description

What you'll be doing:

  • Work one-to-one with clients in a drop-in employment resource center to assist them with employment-related needs

  • Assess for eligibility for WorkBC services and assist clients with the WorkBC Online Employment Services application

  • Develop and facilitate workshops, both in-person and online

  • Maintain up-to-date information on labour market trends, job postings, employment issues, community resources, education planning, volunteer opportunities, and other relevant employment-related supports

  • Maintain accurate notes and records as per WorkBC policy

  • Coordinate and attend hiring fairs and other community events

  • Other duties as required

What you'll need:

  • Relevant post-secondary education, minimum of two years of experience working in a related field, or a combination of education and/or experience

  • Passion for working with clients to achieve their employment goals, including supporting people with multiple barriers

  • Excellent computer and administrative skills

  • Excellent writing skills and strong attention to detail

  • Current knowledge of the local labour market as well as community resources in Metro Vancouver

  • Knowledge and experience providing employment counselling an asset

  • Additional languages an asset

  • A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required
