Job Summary
The Out In Schools Facilitator position is a casual, part-time contract opportunity that is responsible for delivering presentations and leading facilitated discussions with an intersectional lens on 2SLGBTQIA+ issues for youth as well as educators. This position is specifically for presentations in French, which will be delivered remotely via Zoom to schools across BC. This position is best suited for those aged 18-25 with some facilitation experience with some facilitation experience. The contract runs until June 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension.
Compensation
Facilitators are responsible for invoicing and tracking all hours worked. Contract wage is $27.85/hour.
Reporting
Reports to Out In Schools Program Manager, Danny Lybbert.
Responsibilities
Deliver French-language Out In Schools presentations (remotely)
Facilitate post-film dialogue on 2SLGBTQIA+ issues to as many as 500+ students at one time
Be a positive resource and role model for 2SLGBTQIA+ and allied communities
Model and practice Out On Screen's values and mission
Liaise with educators and school administration
Be available for training and professional development
Track and invoice for hours worked
Assist with program evaluation
Be a part of our social media campaigns (Instagram, Facebook, website)
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Fluent in both French and English
Able to facilitate group dynamics of varying sizes
Confidence and experience in public speaking and presenting
Knowledge of 2SLGBTQIA+ language, issues, and tools for inclusion through an intersectional lens
Comfortable with presentation technology and software, PowerPoint and Zoom
Committed to the values of creativity, courage, respect, intersectionality, and anti-oppression
Training and Experience
Experience working with youth or leading peer-to-peer engagement
Facilitation training or experience
Recent high school experience
Artistic practices (eg. Film, spoken word, theatre, painting, etc.)
2SLGBTQIA+ and community-based sector work experience
Knowledge of film and media
Experience facilitating via Zoom and engaging a digital audience

Working Conditions
Expected Schedule
This position is a casual, part-time contract opportunity. This means hours are determined by facilitator availability and program demand.
Facilitators should be available to work during school hours (8 AM – 4 PM PST) for presentations and business hours (9 AM – 5 PM PST) for training and meetings.

We expect this hiring process to follow these guidelines:
Accepting applications starting in January
Interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis until the position is filled
Successful applicants will receive onboarding and training in February/early March, and begin facilitating as soon as bookings are available
