Position: Construction Estimator Location:Uxbridge (with hybrid/remote flexibility considered for the right candidate) Type:Full-time, Permanent About Us: MG Construction Solutions is a thriving and reputable construction company committed to excellence,integrity, and building strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities: · Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects from conceptual design to tender stages. · Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to thoroughly understand project requirements. · Perform detailed quantity take-offs and material pricing using estimating software and proven manual methods. · Manage and contribute to the development of project material lists, ensuring accuracy and coordinating with the procurement team and site supervisors. · Solicit, analyze, and negotiate pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors. · Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and the leadership team to ensure estimates are realistic and achievable. · Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to management for review and submission. · Participate in post-bid reviews and handover meetings to ensure a smooth project transition. · Maintain and update a database of costs, suppliers, and subcontractors. Qualifications & Experience: · Must Have: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator in a relevant field. · Team Player: A collaborative mindset is essential. You must be able to work effectively with both office and field staff to gather information and build winning strategies. · Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents. · Material Management: Proven experience in generating, managing, and refining material take-offs and lists for construction projects. · Analytical Skills: Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. · Software Knowledge: Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Planswift, HeavyBid, or similar) is a strong asset. · Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for dealing with clients, suppliers, and team members.
