What is the role?
The Project Coordinator – Multimodal Mobility and Safety will support the planning, coordination, and management of multimodal transportation studies and road safety projects, including transportation forensic engineering investigations. In this role, you will assist in developing project schedules, tracking progress, coordinating with internal teams, sub-consultants, and stakeholders, and preparing project documentation. You will participate in client and stakeholder meetings, support proposal preparation, and assist transportation and transportation forensic engineers with field data collection, site visits, analysis, client meetings and reports, including assisting/attending court hearings.

In This Role, Your Duties And Responsibilities Will Include
Project Coordination & Management

  • Assist in planning and managing multimodal mobility, traffic engineering, other transportation studies, and transportation safety projects, including transportation forensic investigations.
  • Assist in developing project timeline, schedules, and oversee progress to make sure deliverables are met on time.
  • Monitor and track the progress of the project work, including resources, schedules and budget, to make sure the project is running smoothly and efficiently and to support the preparation of status reports.
  • Liaise with other project disciplines, sub-consultants, stakeholders and parties where applicable in coordinating technical aspects of the project work.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including technical reports, assist/attend court hearings, progress summaries, and client correspondence.

Client & Stakeholder Liaison

  • Represent LEA in coordination meetings with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality project work.
  • Participate in project meetings, addressing queries and providing technical support.
  • Support proposal preparation and presentation of project deliverables to clients.

Field Work:

  • Assist transportation and transportation forensic engineers in data collection, analysis, and documentation for safety and mobility studies.
  • Conduct site visits for multimodal infrastructure assessments, documenting observations and supporting technical recommendations.
  • Assist in applying Ontario traffic engineering and road safety standards in project deliverables.

Quality Control and Health & Safety

  • Ensure quality control and assurance throughout projects, maintaining design accuracy, technical clarity, drawing readability, and compliance with design standards.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or hazards to the supervisor.

Professional Development

  • Continuously develop professional skills through training, workshops, seminars, and professional association involvement to stay updated on industry trends and software.
  • Support additional assignments within the Transportation & Systems Division.

The Qualifications You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in transportation engineering, preferably with experience in road safety.
  • Good knowledge of multimodal mobility, traffic engineering, road safety studies/audits, and forensic transportation investigations is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of Ontario and Canadian transportation safety standards, including TAC guidelines, Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) series, MTO design standards, municipal/provincial/federal regulations, and municipal active transportation policies.
  • Familiarity with road safety review and audits, collision analysis, and evidence-based countermeasures in line with Vision Zero principles and road safety planning.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders.
