Overview

Highclere Capital Corporation is a recently launched residential mortgage lender in the Prime, Insured, Insurable and Alt-A markets. Mortgages are originated through a network of mortgage brokers. Highclere operates across Canada except for Quebec.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Treasurer to oversee the financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and compliance, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations. This role requires strong expertise in excel and financial analysis, with a focus on maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting strategic decision-making. Strong quantitative skills are a requirement.

Duties

  • Strong quantitative skills for the purpose of financial forecasting, projections and hedging
  • Capital markets experience is a plus as well as having interfaced with large Canadian banks mortgage groups
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and account reconciliations
  • Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and monitor budgets, providing insights for financial planning and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and internal controls
  • Coordinate with auditors during audits and prepare necessary documentation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and best practices to improve financial procedures

Experience

  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Strong quantitative and excel skills necessary to build financial forecasts and mortgage cash-flow models.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools
  • Excellent understanding of financial regulations and compliance
  • Prior experience dealing with multiple bank and non-bank funding sources is a plus
  • Prior capital markets experience is a plus
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Certification such as CPA, CFA, or similar is a plus
  • Prior experience in financial management or treasury roles

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $65,907.63-$170,001.18 per year
