Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting store operations, leading sales initiatives, and managing daily activities to ensure an exceptional customer experience. The Assistant Store Manager will assist in supervising staff, overseeing merchandising, and maintaining store standards to drive sales and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Lead and motivate sales associates to achieve sales goals through effective coaching and team management.
- Oversee merchandising strategies, pricing accuracy, and product placement to maximize sales potential.
- Manage payroll, scheduling, and staffing needs while ensuring optimal coverage during peak hours.
- Handle customer service inquiries with professionalism, including cashiering, POS transactions, and phone etiquette.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members to foster a high-performing team.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with purchasing decisions, and coordinate stock replenishment efforts.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual presentation aligned with brand standards.
- Support marketing initiatives by implementing promotional campaigns and engaging with local community events.
- Manage administrative tasks such as bookkeeping, budgeting, and record keeping to ensure smooth store operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail sales, store management, or supervisory roles within a retail environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively and foster a positive work environment.
- Excellent communication skills—bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, merchandising software, and basic math skills for pricing and bookkeeping.
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation, marketing strategies, and sales management techniques.
- Experience with recruiting, training & development, payroll processing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time efficiently while handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong customer service orientation with professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
