The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for a full-time Labourer II. The successful candidate will beresponsible for operating a variety of equipment to facilitate the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, and rights-of-way within the M.D.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate roller and compactor to smooth and patch road surfaces.
  • Operate other equipment, such as skid steer, loader, packer, etc.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Keep vehicles and equipment clean and in safe operating order.
  • Follow all procedures for safe and efficient operation of equipment.
  • Prepare equipment, work code, timecards, and pre-trip equipment inspection forms, including the posting of equipment hours, fuel, oil etc.
  • Perform traffic control and flagging during road construction and maintenance.
  • Collect traffic related data.
  • Assess roadway conditions, reporting results to direct report.
  • On call rotation and night shifts may be required.
  • Perform all essential functions of manual labour and other related duties within the scope of the position.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferable.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license in good standing.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess some basic mechanical skills.
  • Must provide a Criminal Record Check with satisfactory results.
