Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Financial Controller located in Montreal. The Controller will undertake and oversee all tasks related to the finances of the company such as preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial statements, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and manage accounting operations.
Tasks
Manage accounting
– bookkeeping, invoices, payments, payroll etc.
Prepare financial statements
– income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports.
Monitor budgets
– tracks spending vs. plans.
Ensure accuracy
– checks that numbers are correct and follow rules (like accounting standards).
Internal controls
– sets up systems to prevent errors or fraud.
Close the books monthly/annually
– finalizes numbers for each period.
Work with auditors
– provides documents and answers questions during audits.
Tax compliance
– helps make sure taxes are filed correctly and on time.
