CAN Mississauga, Canada Smith & Nephew Full time

Marketing Manager, Trauma & Extremities (Mississauga, Toronto, Canada)

Life Unlimited.

At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.

This role reports directly to the Marketing Director in Canada. As Marketing Manager, you will serve as the strategic lead for the portfolio, driving top-line revenue growth, profitability, and achieving overall budget targets.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for formulating a portfolio strategy and roadmap, creating launch plans and marketing programs to inspire and motivate the sales team to deliver annual revenue targets and portfolio performance.

As the Marketing Manager, you will lead strategic initiatives for your assigned product portfolio, working closely with the Marketing team and cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth and market success. You'll oversee local product launches, develop marketing campaigns, and provide the sales team with tools and insights to boost performance. Your role also includes gathering market intelligence, supporting medical education efforts, and collaborating on RFPs and pricing strategies. Additionally, you'll contribute to sales training programs and support national and regional conferences, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.

Travel Requirements: This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the Mississauga office (and as required). Ability to travel up to 30% of the time. Mostly within Canada.

What will you need to be successful?

To succeed in this role, you'll need a university degree, and while not required, an MBA is a nice bonus. You should have 5+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or product management within healthcare or medical devices—experience in Orthopaedics and a good understanding of the Canadian healthcare system will be especially helpful.

We're looking for someone who can think strategically and get things done. You should be comfortable analyzing data, solving problems, and adjusting quickly when things change. You'll need to be organized and able to juggle several projects at once. Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential, especially when working with different teams or sharing ideas. Being proactive, curious, and open to new ways of doing things will go a long way. Fluency in both English and French is a strong asset. This role involves travel within Canada (about 30%) and is hybrid, with three days a week in the Mississauga office, depending on what's needed.

Successful candidates adapt swiftly to market changes, possess strong multitasking abilities, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. A dynamic teammate with an entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to innovate is highly valued

  • University degree required, MBA is an asset
  • 5+ yrs experience in managing sales, marketing, and product management/or development working in a health care or medical device environment
