Position Overview
We are a well-established electrical panel manufacturing company seeking an experienced Electrical Panel Design Engineer.
This role is primarily focused on the design of electrical panels, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. The successful candidate will play a key role from design development through manufacturing support and project completion.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design electrical panel schematics, wiring diagrams, terminal diagrams, and layout drawings using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN
- Lead electrical panel design activities from concept, review, and approval stages
- Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) based on approved drawings and technical specifications
- Coordinate electrical drawing packages with workshop and production teams
- Prepare wiring plans and terminal schedules to support manufacturing
- Provide technical support to shop floor teams and resolve design-related issues during execution
- Support the estimating team with technical input for quotations, tenders, and proposals
- Participate in and provide technical support during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with clients
- Prepare project progress updates related to design milestones and execution status
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (IEC, NEC, UL) and internal quality procedures
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical panel design within a manufacturing environment
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN
- Ability to create, review, and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience generating BOMs directly from electrical drawings
- Good understanding of industrial electrical standards (IEC, NEC, UL)
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting manufacturing and shop floor activities
- Background in industrial control panels, power panels, or automation panels
- Experience working directly with clients during FAT
- Engineering diploma or degree (Electrical or related discipline)
