Mezzo Ristorante & Lounge is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary leadership team. This role is ideal for an experienced cook ready to step into a leadership position within a fast-paced, quality-driven kitchen known for modern Italian cuisine.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, food preparation, and recipe development
  • Lead kitchen operations during service, ensuring consistency, quality, and timing
  • Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety
  • Manage inventory levels, food costs, and waste to meet budget targets
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop daily features and specials

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or Chef de Partie (required)
  • Valid Food Handler's Certificate (required)
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
  • Proficiency in a variety of cooking techniques and preparation methods
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead by example
  • Team leadership and people-management skills are a strong asset
