Job summary
The Sanitation Associate plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment within the organization. This position involves performing sanitation and cleaning duties to ensure compliance with hygiene standards and to contribute to the overall well-being of employees and customers.
Major Responsibilities:
- Sanitation Procedures: Follow established sanitation protocols to clean and disinfect various areas within the facility, including production areas, restrooms, and common spaces.
- Equipment Cleaning: Clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and machinery to maintain a hygienic and safe working environment.
- Waste Management: Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
- Restocking Supplies: Monitor and restock sanitation supplies, including cleaning agents, detergents, and personal protective equipment.
- Compliance Checks: Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to coordinate sanitation activities and address specific cleaning needs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, includingchecklists, cleaning schedules, and inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Training: Participate in training programs to stay informed about sanitation best practices and safety procedures.
- Accountabilities: Hygiene Standards: Accountable for maintaining high levels of cleanliness and adherence to hygiene standards within the organization.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Safety Compliance: Accountable for compliance with safety regulations and sanitation protocols.
- Sanitation Practices: Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene practices in a manufacturing or food production setting.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and disinfection.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Teamwork: Collaborative mindset to work effectively with other team members and departments.
- Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to creating a safe work environment
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in sanitation or janitorial roles is preferred.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their proper use.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
- Training or certifications in sanitation and safety practices is a plus.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor scrubbers.
