Job Summary

Are you passionate about food and community? If so, we're looking for an energetic and very organized program co-ordinator to take a lead on logistics for our Meals to Heal program.

Meals to Heal is a community-based program which provides medically tailored meals to community members in West Hants with medical conditions. Our goals are to improve health outcomes, quality of life and food security. We are located at the Station Food Hub in Newport Station and we deliver meals throughout West Hants via our team of volunteers.

This is a part-time contract for six months with potential for extension to hours and length of contract (dependent on funding)

Duties

  • Co-ordinating weekly meal deliveries to our clients and assisting with deliveries as needed.
  • Managing and training our team of volunteers.
  • Liaising with clients, volunteers, community partners and our partners at the Station Food Hub.
  • Helping with menu design and providing input and suggestions for meals
  • Managing inventory
  • Assisting with research and evaluation.
  • Attending events on behalf of Meals to Heal
  • Promoting our program to community members and funders
  • Speaking with media and promoting Meals to Heal on social media

Duties

You will be required to work from the job location in Newport Station at least one set day per week (likely Thursday or Friday). You will need to have a vehicle and clean drivers license. You will also need to complete a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check prior to starting the position.
