We are looking for a hands-on Facilities Technician to help maintain our manufacturing sites. The Facilities Technician will be responsible for basic maintenance of our building. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with their hands, and keeping facilities safe, reliable, and efficient. You are a hands-on person with technical skills, attention to detail, and work with contractors. You will support repairs and maintenance, and institute preventative maintenance programs across our buildings.

What you'll do:

• Be the on-site contact for contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with safety and food industry standard
• Perform basic maintenance, preventive inspections, and repairs on facilities and equipment.
• Handle minor building repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, flooring, tiling).
• Regularly inspect and troubleshoot building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical operations.
• Maintain, repair, and support major equipment (air compressors, pneumatic systems, electrical panels, lighting, etc.).
• Respond quickly to building emergencies, and assist with fire safety and compliance checks.
• Keep facilities clean, safe, and organized.
• Transport tools, parts, and equipment between sites (must have valid driver's license and reliable vehicle).
• Attend to basic building repairs, caulking work, light piping, assembling or relocating equipment, furniture, etc.
• Perform minor repair work as required.
• Identify potential issues before they become major problems, and escalate as needed.
• Replace filters, belts and other components as required.
• Carry out scheduled PM tasks on facilities equipment including HVAC, chiller and boiler.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors performing maintenance or repairs.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Niche's health and safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with renovations, upgrades, and special projects.

What we're looking for:

• Experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or similar technical work.
• Hands-on skills in basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Knowledge of HVAC and utilities is a strong asset.
• Good troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Physically able to perform duties (including working at heights).
• Familiarity with GMP, food facility compliance, or health & safety standards is an asset.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required.
