Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
OT Architecture and Cybersecurity Specialist
to lead the design, implementation, and protection of Operational Technology (OT) systems across our industrial environment. This role is responsible for developing secure OT infrastructure, implementing cyber controls, conducting assessments, and ensuring the reliability and security of mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in industrial control systems with advanced cybersecurity knowledge, engineering practices, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
OT Architecture & Engineering
- Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of OT equipment and components supporting secure communications, industrial applications, cyber monitoring, and control systems.
- Prepare material cost estimates, project timelines, technical reports, and design specifications for OT infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design of OT facilities, networks, and system architectures.
- Conduct simulations, modeling, characterization, and integration activities to develop and refine OT infrastructure best practices.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Oversee the installation, modification, testing, and operation of OT systems and equipment, ensuring proper integration with cybersecurity controls.
- Develop and enforce maintenance and operational standards for OT infrastructure and associated cybersecurity technologies.
- Lead investigations related to OT system failures and cybersecurity incidents, including root cause analysis and risk mitigation.
- Conduct OT-focused cybersecurity assessments and develop corresponding remediation roadmaps.
- Develop, implement, and operationalize OT-focused Cybersecurity Management Plans (CMPs).
Project Management & Leadership
- Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for OT system construction, upgrades, and maintenance projects.
- Supervise and mentor technicians, technologists, programmers, analysts, and other engineers involved in OT and cybersecurity initiatives.
- Coordinate client and stakeholder communications, facilitating technical discussions and project meetings.
Qualifications (Recommended)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience working with OT systems, industrial networks, or ICS cybersecurity.
- Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA), ICS/SCADA systems, and associated cybersecurity frameworks.
- Familiarity with NIST CSF, NERC CIP, IEC 62443, ISO 27001, or similar cybersecurity standards.
- Experience with risk assessments, threat modeling, and incident response in OT environments.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Certification Preferred:
- GICSP – Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional
- ICS410: ICS/SCADA Security Essentials
- CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- CompTIA Security+
- P.eng is a huge plus
