Environmental Professional
(RPBio, PAg, RPF) leader or aspiring leader to oversee our Environment department in
Williams Lake, British Columbia.
As the Williams Lake Environmental Manager, you will lead a team of skilled staff, including professionals, in-training professionals and technicians, provide professional guidance and advice to staff and clients, maintain and develop new clients, and work on and lead a variety of environmental projects across various market sectors and environmental disciplines.

The role will be a mix of office and field work, and the applicant should enjoy working collaboratively in a demanding, fast-paced environment that provides rewarding work opportunities. In this role, you will work with our Environmental Manager-Southern Operations to set the direction of the Williams Lake Environment department and to ensure client needs and division goals are successfully met.

Office or Field:
Office and field. Flexible work schedule.

Travel:
Some field work and travel can be expected, but most work will be in the Cariboo-Chilcotin Region of central British Columbia.

Compensation:
$42 - $65
/ hour plus overtime, professional dues, benefits, vacation pay, RRSP program with employer contribution, annual bonus program, and more. Depending on experience, further opportunities for participation in company success are possible. Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising, training, and mentoring junior team members.
  • Promoting and modelling a progressive safety culture according to the DWB/CRGL safety program.
  • Providing leadership, professional guidance and advice, and project management for various environmental projects in various natural resource sectors.
  • Interacting with clients on projects as Environmental/Discipline Lead or Project Manager.
  • Leveraging existing and new client relationships to grow environmental market share.
  • Developing quotes, proposals, and other business development-related activities to establish new client relationships.

Your education, training, and memberships:

  • Must be a BC-regulated environmental professional (i.e., RPBio, PAg, RPF, PGeo, PEng).

Your skills and experience:

  • At least
    eight (8)
    years of demonstrated relevant work experience, including direct staff management.
  • Effective relationship and networking skills are required to help cultivate relationships with clients, First Nations, regulators, and DWB/CRGL team members.
  • Project management and organizational skills to coordinate and support team members, manage client expectations and project safety, budgets, and equipment.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for mentoring and training team members and supporting their professional development.
  • Ability to review and prepare professional reports, study designs, and develop project proposals and quotes.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize workloads.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations in BC to ensure legal compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategic solutions.

Desirable traits:

  • Willingness to present at seminars or conferences and to network with other professionals and prospective clients.
  • Interest in working with other professionals and subject matter experts on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • A focus on results ensures projects are completed on time and budget.
  • Ability to adapt to changes throughout the project life cycle.
