Hiring decisions are based on equal opportunities across each team.About the ProjectCross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc. and Arcadis Canada Inc. general partnership that has been selected to collaboratively deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians.Position Overview & Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Environmental Director and working at the environmental management level, the Environmental Project Manager, will:• Support leadership with the day-to-day management of the environmental permitting team, permit applications, and environmental and contractual compliance.• Co-manage, with support from colleagues, the permitting required for the project, especially with respect fish and fish habitat and river sediment and soil handling. • Coordinate with the client, subconsultants, and the design and construction team to acquire the relevant information to feed into the permitting process. Manage this permitting schedule.• Manage environmental issues associated with the project on a day-to-day basis, including overseeing the project site investigation activities, environmental monitoring, and follow-up programs in accordance with the environmental assessment conditions, environmental reports, applicable laws, and applicable permits, licenses, approvals, and agreements.• Help manage the development of habitat restoration, enhancement, offsetting and creation plans, designs, and reports. • Senior review environmental management plans (e.g., water, air, noise, vibration, soil, wildlife, fueling, emergency response). • Manage the implementation an internal auditing and site monitoring program. • Lead/participate in and track the consultation and engagement on the aquatic and land-based environmental permits and related environmental management plans. • Participate in and, at times, function as scribe for management meetings. Prepare briefing notes and/or presentations on environmental topics, such as permits. Raise awareness on environmental issues, information gaps, and requirements.• Manage third-party consultants who are supporting project permitting and field work. Support the procurement process for related environmental services and supplies. • Help maintain working relationships with governmental authorities, Indigenous community representatives, and other stakeholders in cooperation with the client.• Conduct research on new technology relevant to environmental issues, including mitigation measures to find solutions. • Develop, track, and monitor environmental metrics in line with best practice standards.Education and qualifications• Strong project manager, ideally with experience using tools such as MS Project, Primavera. Communications and compliance tracking software experience is an asset.• 5-10 years of work-related experience on major construction projects along the BC coastline, in aquatic environments. Experience with the progressive design build model is an asset. • Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, aquatics or environmental sciences, or a similar field. A related bachelor's degree, and relevant professional experience managing environmental assessments and permitting is also acceptable.• Strong public speaking skills, and active listening skills, to engagement with diverse groups of people about environmental and social issues.Why You Should Apply• Up to 5% RRSP matching.• Career advancement, training, and education opportunities.• Travel allowance.• Four weeks vacation.The expected salary range for this opportunity is $110,000 - $150,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate's experience and geographical location.
