TAQA North is searching for a Contracts Specialist with specific experience working in support of Facilities and Operations Engineering projects and technical categories, to join its team As a part of the Legal and Contracts team, you will report to the Contracts Supervisor, and you will collaborate with internal stakeholders throughout the contract's lifecycle. Our preferred candidate has strong business acumen, is knowledgeable in contracts management and administration processes, is skilled in negotiations, and has a high level of attention to detail.

Please note that this is a full-time 18-month contractor position, based out of our Calgary office located downtown.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all contracting activities adhere to and are in compliance with applicable policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with contract owners, the Supply Chain Department, and the Legal Department in the creation and negotiation of contracts, including analyzing potential risks involved and emphasizing associated risks to appropriate stakeholders
  • Provide support to the business in managing contractual rights and obligations and the means to mitigate contractual risks
  • Stay up-to date with legislative changes and coordinate with the Legal Department as required
  • Familiarity with best contract management practices
  • Support and collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate the roll-out of TAQA North's contracts management system
  • Assist with communication, training, and change management with internal stakeholders around new processes
  • Maintain organized system of digital records, including the accuracy and quality of data throughout the contracts lifecycle
  • Proactively monitor and manage contract expirations with the Supply Chain Department to support category/ contracting strategies
  • Effectively manage contract terminations and close-out requirements
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Work closely with Contracts Team to ensure proper documentation is developed and approved to meet legal and procurement requirements

Your Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of combined experience in end-to-end contracts management, with strong knowledge in post-award contracts management
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent business experience
  • Experience supporting Facilities & Operations Engineering teams (including major and minor capital projects) is preferred
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, and a demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a thoroughness in all tasks
  • Proven ability to prioritize while working towards deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management
  • Ability to thrive within a cross-functional team with a positive/ can-do attitude, while stewarding towards achieving common goals
  • Ability and desire to learn new concepts as well as adapting to new and challenging situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PowerBI
