Accounting Clerk

Summary

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for preparing and processing bills, invoices, accounts payable and receivable, and other financial records according to established procedures. This role is also accountable for accurately issuing pay to employees in accordance with established practices and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

· Prepare, process bills, invoices, accounts payable, and receivable; collect and follow-up as required.

· Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all financial transactions are recorded appropriately.

· Issue pay to employees accurately and on time, following established guidelines.

· Addresses employees' pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information.

· Files monthly GST/HST and TVQ returns.

· Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

· Reconcile credit card and bank statements and assist with audits as needed.

· Respond to and resolve vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoices and payments.

· Support with additional tasks as needed.

Skills & Requirements

Education:

Postsecondary diploma in accounting or in a business-related field

Experience:

· Proven experience as an accounting clerk and in payroll processing

· Working knowledge of relevant accounting software

· Strong numerical skills and accuracy

· Understanding of basic accounting principles

Competencies:

· Planning and organizing

· Communication skills - verbal and written in both official languages

· Information collection, analysis and management

Physical Conditions:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.29-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
