JR Coil Tubing Services is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Oil Field Swamper. The Swamper will act as a general labourer and assistant to our skilled Coil Tubing Supervisors. This is a physically demanding, entry-level position that offers an excellent opportunity to learn the industry from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a team player with top tier work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

● Assist Equipment Operators: Work under the direct guidance of the operator to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

● Spotting: Act as the "eyes on the ground" for the operator, using clear and correct hand signals to guide machinery and equipment in tight spaces and near hazards.

● Rigging and Securement: Safely rig in and rig out equipment. Secure loads on trucks and trailers using chains, boomers, and straps, ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations.

● Site Maintenance: Perform general labour duties, including shoveling, cleaning equipment and trucks, maintaining a clean and organized worksite, and managing tools.

● Safety Compliance: Actively participate in all safety meetings, including pre-job toolbox talks and hazard assessments. Adhere strictly to all company, client, and regulatory safety protocols.

● Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Properly use and maintain all required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and flame-resistant clothing (FRC).

● Communication: Maintain clear and constant communication with the operator and other crew members.

● Minor Maintenance: Assist with minor preventative maintenance, such as greasing equipment and checking fluid levels, as directed by the operator.

Qualifications and Requirements

● Experience: Previous experience as a swamper or in a physically demanding role (e.g., construction, agriculture) is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

● Driver's License: A valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract is required. A Class 3 or Class 1 license is a significant asset.

● Safety Tickets: The following safety certifications are an asset, but can also be company provided.

○ H2S Alive

○ Standard First Aid / CPR Level C

○ Common Safety Orientation (CSO)

● Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).

● Work Ethic: Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

● Attitude: Must have a positive, team-oriented attitude and be able to take direction well.

● Drug & Alcohol Screening: Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Working Conditions

● Work is performed outdoors on oil and gas lease sites in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, rain, and snow.

● The work environment involves exposure to loud noises, mud, dust, and industrial chemicals.

● This role requires extensive physical activity, including standing, walking, crouching, lifting, and climbing for extended periods.
