Position Title: Swamper (Warehouse – Container Destuffing)

Department: Warehouse / Logistics

Employment Type: Part-Time, On-Call

We are looking for a part-time Warehouse Swamper to assist with offloading and destuffing shipping containers. This position is on an as-needed basis, and the worker will be contacted for shifts when containers arrive. The Swamper is responsible for safely unloading goods, organizing materials, and supporting warehouse operations with general labour tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offload and destuff shipping containers containing pallets, loose goods, or equipment.
  • Sort, stack, palletize, and organize materials after destuffing.
  • Assist forklift operators and warehouse staff with loading/unloading tasks.
  • Use pallet jacks, dollies, or other warehouse tools (training provided if needed).
  • Perform general labour tasks such as lifting, carrying, sweeping, and cleanup.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and PPE use.
  • Report any product damage or safety concerns to the warehouse supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in warehouse work or container destuffing (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to lift 50–100 lbs repeatedly.
  • Reliable, punctual, and available for on-call, short-notice shifts.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with heavy physical activity.
  • Ability to follow directions and work safely as part of a team.
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience is an asset.

Work Environment

  • Warehouse setting with frequent heavy lifting and repetitive tasks.
  • Part-time, on-call schedule; workers are contacted when containers arrive.
  • May involve early morning or daytime shifts depending on delivery schedules.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 12 per week
