Envision Consultants Ltd. is looking for a bright, motivated, team-oriented person to join our Instrumentation & Monitoring team as a Survey & Monitoring Specialist. Ideal candidates will be motivated to work with a growing, fast-paced team, possessing excellent verbal and written communications skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to manage internal and external relationships.
Our Instrumentation and Monitoring team provides geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring program from design to operation. They assist clients to comply with regulations or requirements from varied stakeholders using either conventional or advanced technology and methodologies, i.e. remotely controlled automated monitoring systems. We also integrated other teams' findings into one centralized hub to give clients more flexible and meaningful options.

As part of your role, you may expect to be involved in:
- Conducting and supporting civil engineering field surveys related to topography, drainage, roads, and infrastructure
- Assisting in demonstrating surveying and monitoring technologies to clients and collecting feedback to support client development and engineering service offerings
- Preparing and assisting in the development of civil engineering drawings, layout plans, and technical specifications using CAD software, based on field data, engineering standards, and project requirements, under the guidance of professional engineers
- Interpreting survey results and integrating data into instrumentation & monitoring projects
- Ensuring proper setup, calibration, and operation of surveying instruments and field software to maintain layout accuracy and validate engineering designs in field conditions
- Performing GNSS site localization, coordinating system setup, and establishment of engineering control points to support construction layout and project control
- Coordinating with engineers, contractors, and surveyors, and stakeholder to facilitate technical data exchange, workflow integration, and system compatibility
- Verifying that survey workflows comply with engineering design drawings and specification, ensuring field operations are accurately executed
- Supporting on-site inspections
- Identifying, troubleshooting, and providing solutions to technical issues with surveying hardware, software, GNSS systems, and field operations
- Conducting technical demonstrations and hands-on training for internal teams, clients, and project staff
- Assisting in the preparation and verification of construction documentation and engineering deliverables
To apply to this position, you should expect to have:
- A degree or diploma in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or a related discipline
- A keen interest in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring
- Survey experience or related instrumentation experience is required
- A valid G license and access to a vehicle to travel to and from sites (mileage to sites compensated), including valid and appropriate vehicle insurance
- Comfortable interacting with the public, clients, contractors, and co-workers
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues
- Ability to work outdoors, in all seasons and weather
