Job Description
The SQL Product Manager will be responsible for leading and mentoring a small team of developers, overseeing database design, development, optimization, and maintenance activities. This role involves guiding the team in writing efficient SQL queries and procedures, ensuring data quality and integrity, and driving best practices in database management.
In addition to hands-on technical work, the SQL Product Manager will coordinate workloads, review code, provide technical direction, and foster collaboration across the team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for building scalable and automated data solutions, and the ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and support SQL developers through guidance, reviews, and feedback.
- Oversee design, development, and maintenance of SQL databases and structures.
- Drive creation and optimization of high-performance SQL queries and procedures.
- Establish and enforce best practices for database design and query development.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security through testing and governance.
- Direct development of ETL processes to integrate data across systems.
- Monitor and improve SQL database performance and reliability.
- Guide creation and maintenance of SSRS reporting solutions.
- Oversee SQL integration with Python and Power Automate automation.
- Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting complex database issues.
- Maintain clear documentation for databases, queries, and processes.
- Foster a culture of customer service and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with emerging SQL/database trends and technologies.
- Manage external consultants and contract developers.
Desired skills and experience
Technical Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years experience of SQL, including complex queries, subqueries, and stored procedures.
- 8+ years experience with database design and normalization.
- 8+ years experience with ETL tools, such as SSIS.
- 3+ years experience in finance industry.
- Proficiency with SSRS and RDL report writing.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based databases, such as Azure.
- Working knowledge of Python and its standard libraries, Power Automate and PowerApps.
- Experience with RESTful API design and development.
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting.
- Experience with PFS-Paxus.
- Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.

- Strong foundation in solution design principles, modular programming, and automation.

- Ability to understand the business process and create process flow diagrams.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, attention to quality, self-motivation and a strong desire to succeed.
