Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or custom scripting with Python and Bash (Unix shell).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions within cloud environments like AWS, Azure Data Lake, or Hadoop ecosystems.
  • Implement data models and database designs for data warehouses utilizing Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or Apache Hive to ensure high performance and data integrity.
  • Develop dashboards and reports using Looker or other visualization tools to provide real-time insights for stakeholders.
  • Integrate linked data sources and manage big data platforms such as Spark, Hadoop, or Apache Hive for large-scale analysis.
  • Support model training and analysis activities by providing clean, well-structured datasets and performing complex queries to uncover trends and patterns.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with SQL development in relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL processes, including tools like Talend or Informatica, along with scripting skills in Python, VBA, Bash (Unix shell), or Shell Scripting.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure Data Lake, or similar big data environments like Hadoop or Spark.
  • Hands-on experience working with big data technologies including Apache Hive, Hadoop ecosystem components, and Spark for large-scale processing.
  • Understanding of data warehouse architecture principles and database design best practices.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API integration for data exchange between systems.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills to interpret complex datasets effectively.
