At Warner Music Group, we're a global collective of music makers and music lovers, tech innovators and inspired entrepreneurs, game-changing creatives and passionate team members. Here, we turn dreams into stardom and audiences into fans. We are guided by three core values that underpin everything we do across all our diverse businesses:
• Curiosity: We do our best work when we're immersing ourselves in culture and breaking through barriers. Curiosity is the driving force behind creativity and ingenuity. It fuels innovation, and innovation is the key to our future.
• Collaboration: Making music and bringing it to the world is all about the power of originality amplified by teamwork. A great idea, like a great song, travels globally. We ignite passions and build connections across our diverse community of artists, songwriters, partners, and fans.
• Commitment: We pursue excellence for our team and our talent. Everything in music starts with a leap into the unknown, and we're committed to keeping the faith, acting with integrity, and delivering on our promises.
Technology is one of the most important parts of our business. Whether it's signing up new artists; ensuring we provide the right data to Spotify, YouTube, and other digital service providers; or helping artists use the latest AI tools and make thoughtful decisions with data-driven insights – technology plays an invaluable role in our success. The engineering team at Warner Music Group makes all of it a reality.
WMG is home to a wide range of artists, musicians, and songwriters that fuel our success. That is why we are committed to creating a work environment that actively values, appreciates, and respects everyone. We encourage applications from people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.

Position Overview
WMG organization is launching a strategic, greenfield implementation of a global Order Management System (OMS). We are seeking a Director of Engineering - Ecommerce and OMS Implementation to serve as the single point of accountability for the entire solution architecture.
You will be the primary technical leader responsible for translating the business vision into a scalable, secure, and high-performance technology architecture. You will own all high-level design decisions, ensuring the solution is robust, maintainable, and aligned with our enterprise goals. This role requires an expert-level understanding of a market leading OMS (IBM Sterling OMS and/or Manhattan Assoc - MAO) and the complex integration patterns required to connect it to our enterprise ecosystem.
Responsibilities:- Manage a team of system integrators, vendors, and contractors
- Be fully accountable for the creation, documentation, and governance of the end-to-end solution architecture for the OMS implementation.
- Lead and facilitate the formal solution design review process, gaining buy-in from technical and business stakeholders.
- Oversee and approve all major design decisions related to system scalability, security, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Validate integration feasibility and define the master integration strategy. This includes architecting the communication layer between the OMS and all external systems (ERP, WMS, E-commerce platforms, etc.).
- Define and govern the data flow, direction, frequency, and transformation rules for all integrations.
- Establish and enforce standards for integration design to ensure a loosely coupled and resilient architecture.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks. Ensure the solution design accounts for non-functional requirements like API limits, throttling, error handling, and comprehensive monitoring.
- Strong, practical understanding of OMS customization methodologies, configuration, extension points, and best practices.
- Expert-level knowledge of IBM Sterling Order Management System or Manhattan Assoc (MAO)
- Deep and proven expertise in enterprise-level architecture, cloud solutions, and designing complex, distributed systems.
- Mastery of integration design. Must be able to design and validate solutions for complex cross-system communication.
- Messaging & API Design
- Deep knowledge of asynchronous messaging patterns and event-driven architecture (Event Bus, Webhooks, Queues).
- Proficiency in designing and governing RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services.
- Expertise in middleware and integration platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, and communicate complex technical concepts to executive-level business stakeholders.
- 7+ years experience with IBM Sterling and/or Manhattan Active Omni platforms.
- Experience migrating from legacy OMS platforms.
- Experience managing a diverse team.
- Direct, hands-on experience integrating with systems within the Ecommerce order management and fulfillment stack, such as Shopify, warehouse management systems and SAP ERP.
- Experience in the E-commerce DTC/ B2B / Music and Entertainment industry.
