DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead in the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including but not limited to; assembly, mounting panels, connecting wiring, and installing inverters and other electrical components.
- Troubleshooting and repair of solar systems.
- Aligning solar panels according to site layout plans and engineering drawings.
- Assemble and install solar racking and modules according to specifications.
- Ensure all electrical wiring is completed accurately and safely.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of installed systems.
- Work closely with Project Managers to execute projects with the standard of quality.
- Inspect and ensure all installations comply with local and national electrical codes
- Troubleshoot electrical and control systems
- Install replace/repair/maintain electrical systems including but not limited to; circuits, motors, low & high voltage systems, sub-panels, feeders, transformers, lighting systems.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
- Operating manual and powered hand tools.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and plans.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning.
- Strong attention to detail & problem solving.
Trade Requirements
- Electrical Journeyperson certificate from a recognized provincial training authority.
- Master Electrician Certification is required - Must be able to pull permits.
- CSA Solar Training - "Construction Electrician (NOC 7241) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Certified".
Position Information
- Located in Acheson
- 5/2 Rotation Schedule
- Must have valid driver's license & own reliable transportation
- Travel may be required; primarily based in Acheson / Edmonton area but travel may be required as necessary.
