Lotus Group is proud to partner with our client, a prominent player in the energy sector, to identify a Lead Journeyman Electrician for their Edmonton branch.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is eager to take initiative and step into a leadership-focused role while still being on the tools; guiding a team of Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians on a variety of industrial and oil & gas projects in the Edmonton area. The Electrical Lead will play a critical role in coordinating day-to-day field activities, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project specifications.
In this role, they will be responsible for installing and running rigid and EMT conduit, pulling, terminating, and glanding cables, assembling modular skids, and performing troubleshooting and service work as required. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, the ability to read and interpret complex drawings, and a hands-on leadership style that supports team productivity and development.
Role Responsibilities:
Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic systems
Use of testing devices to inspect, test, and diagnose electrical and electronic systems and controls
Actively maintaining and understanding QMS systems, policies, and procedures
Consulting with leadership and operations staff regarding work performed
Plan, delegate, and monitor workloads, ensuring labor, materials, and equipment are efficiently allocated
Training and mentoring apprentices and support staff in Journeyman roles
Repairing, maintaining, or replacing defective parts
Installing, replacing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and related electrical equipment
Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to resolve issues, support project timelines, and maintain clear communication
Calibrating and maintaining components and instruments according to manufacturers specifications and quality guidelines
Using and interpreting appropriate CSA, codes, standards and practices
Maintaining strong customer relationships
Ability to lift 50lbs
Role Requirements:
A valid Red Seal Electrician Journeyman ticket
A High School Diploma or GED required; additional accreditation will be considered an asset
Valid H2S, CSO, First Aid and Fall Protection certificates required; any other safety certifications is considered an asset
A valid Class 5 drivers license and a clean abstract required
Skid and field construction and conduit experience considered an asset
5 + years of Industrial electrical service, maintenance, and construction experience
Experience working within industrial, oil & gas, and commercial facilities
The ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings as well as electrical code and client(s) specifications
Maintaining and fostering a high level of safety awareness and adherence
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Outlook, Word, Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
