Reporting to the Controller, this role plays an important role in managing the financial transactions of the company. You will be responsible for supporting both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable leads within the department. You assist in maintaining healthy financial relationships with our vendors and customers with your professional and friendly approach. You will work in a department where you will have the opportunity to learn every aspect of what it takes to run an accounting department in a successful dealership environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Obtaining payment approvals and coding vendor invoices
  • Inputting a high volume of accounts payable invoices
  • Cheque runs, Credit Card payments, Generating EFT payments and Online Banking
  • Resolving accounts payable issues with vendors
  • Account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Employee expense reports and payment functions
  • Journal entries
  • Month-end accruals
  • Sublet Account reconciliations
  • Filing and maintaining organized document storage
  • Provide coverage in all administration areas including Reception
  • Accounts Receivable deposit and payment applications
  • Provide support to the Credit Manager during their travel outside of the branch

Skills and Attributes:

  • Previous experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk required
  • Previous experience in Accounts Receivable preferred
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of resolving problems independently
  • CDK or other DMS software experience will put you ahead of others
  • Ability to handle the stresses of deadlines and multiple daily interactions while maintaining a professional attitude
  • Some formal accounting education is an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
