We're looking for an ambitious Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our HR department. In this role, you'll be primarily responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process - from crafting compelling job postings and sourcing top talent to delivering an outstanding candidate experience.

We are open to candidates located in Vancouver or Toronto. 

Reporting to the Sr Director, People and Culture, you'll get to work on a variety of exciting initiatives that go beyond day-to-day recruiting.

What you'll do:
  • Drive and manage all stage of full-cycle recruitment - build relationships with hiring managers to understand hiring requirements and create eye-catching job postings, conduct phone screens, schedule and lead interviews, administer assessments / technical tests where applicable, prepare offers, complete reference/background checks, and presenting/negotiating offers to successful candidates. 
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience by building relationships with applicants and ensuring timely, thoughtful communication throughout every stage of the process.
  • Pipeline Creation & Management - proactively source and engage diverse talent (both active and passive) for technical and non-technical roles across multiple departments and locations. Own all candidate coordination and communication.
  • Headhunt strategically for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria, using online tools such as LinkedIn, networking, employee referrals and your advanced knowledge of our company. 
  • Develop engaging outreach communications that resonate with prospective candidates and drive meaningful conversations.
  • Evaluate and qualify applicants thoroughly to ensure alignment with both job-specific requirements and cultural values before advancing them in the process. 
  • Support special recruitment events (digital expos/job fairs/meetups) locally and beyond. 
  • Present recruitment metrics status reporting to key stakeholders and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Streamline and enhance hiring processes to boost efficiency, equity, and overall candidate experience.
  • Champion organizational attractiveness by recommending innovative policies and practices, analyzing compensation and offer competitiveness, and highlighting our benefits, culture, and perks.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and People teams to enhance Rival Group's employer brand across digital and social channels.
  • Bring curiosity and creativity to expanding our employer branding efforts and finding new ways to attract and engage top talent
  • Contribute to other talent acquisition initiatives and projects as needed to support the success of the broader People team
What You'll Have:  
  • 3-5+ years of related experience in recruitment within a high volume, demanding, fast paced environment. 
  • 1-2+ years' experience in the SaaS or tech markets. 
  • Prior experience in the high-tech industry strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, ATS, and recruiting tools (e.g., Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Glassdoor).
  • Proven ability to source and attract top talent across a range of roles (technical and non-technical).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver an exceptional candidate experience with timely, transparent communication.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills — comfortable advising and partnering with hiring managers at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including crafting compelling outreach and job postings.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive matters with complete professionalism.
  • Experience recruiting across Canada and the U.S., or familiarity with both markets.
  • Exposure to HR or People Operations processes (e.g., onboarding, talent management).
  • Engaged in the HR community, continually building an HR network, and staying up to date on current HR matters.

Fair compensation

We're committed to pay equity/fair pay practices and closing the gender salary gap. 

  • In determining salary, Rival Technologies considers many factors including the successful candidate's skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $ 85,000, with the upper portion typically reserved for tenured employees who have developed extensive job knowledge and expertise within the company.
