We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team in our Vancouver Office

As a member of our Human Resources division you will be responsible to support hiring managers in identifying and sourcing collaborative, passionate, entrepreneurial team members through full cycle recruitment. Your role will be to build relationships and create pipelines for hiring managers in the West.

Your day as a Talent Acquisition Specialist

  • Accountable for the entire recruiting cycle of various roles; from posting vacancies, sourcing talent, resume reviews, scheduling interviews, creating offers and overseeing the onboarding processes.
  • Lead onboarding sessions with new hires.
  • Partner with hiring managers in coordinating and executing the onboarding process.
  • Conduct "first month check-ins" with new hires.
  • Leverage social media sites such as LinkedIn, Indeed etc., to proactively source and vet candidates for open positions.
  • Proactively build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline for key roles.
  • Recommend new, innovative and other means of sourcing where appropriate.
  • Thoroughly and proactively, document interactions, outreach, status, and screening results in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Ultimate Software.
  • Proactively provide status updates to hiring managers and weekly recruitment status reports to the HR Directors.
  • Manage assigned roles on the platforms in which they appear to ensure the proper standards are met as well (i.e. tracking of clicks, traffic, applications, and collaborating with the proper resources to make the necessary adjustments).
  • Collaborate with the HR team/Team Leaders to create meaningful, attractive job descriptions created to target key audiences.
  • Participate in recruitment events such on-campus, career fairs, conferences and meet-ups to network with industry professionals.
  • Lead the hiring process for students, interns, and graduates.
  • Be an advocate for the BFL CANADA, employer brand, making recommendations and driving the brands through communication with potential candidates and vendors.
  • Improve processes within the HR team and share best practices and to ensure the adherence to them.
  • Coordinate with team leaders to forecast department goals and hiring needs.
  • Champion diversity & including values within the Talent Acquisition standards & overall process.
  • Collaborate to help the improvement and overall execution of the ultimate candidate experience.
  • Promote the company's Employee Referral Program and create new ways to engage employees.
  • Provide training and support to Team Leaders to share best practices in recruitment and interviewing etiquette.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Experience recruiting for a variety of positions; ideally in the Insurance industry.
  • Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of technical skills and knowing how to attract high-performing candidates.
  • Experience recruiting for multiple office locations.
  • Experience utilizing an ATS and social media platforms, as a sourcing technique, throughout the recruiting process.
  • "Hands-on" experience with various interview formats (i.e., Teams, phone, etc.).
  • Enthusiasm and passion for working with people and making a positive impact on others around you
  • An overall vision and philosophy oriented towards a diverse and strong cultural presence in the workplace
  • A strong sense of urgency and good communication skills
  • A strong focus on the candidate experience and engagement
  • An analytical and detail-oriented approach

The expected salary for this role ranges from $65,000 to $80,000. Annual salary will be determined by factors including prior experience, location, business segment, and relevance of the candidate's skills to the role.
