Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. This role is vital in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, retail management experience, and excellent communication abilities. Bilingual skills and supervisory experience are highly valued to foster an inclusive and efficient store environment. The Assistant Store Manager will play a key role in team management, merchandising, and operational excellence to meet business goals and enhance customer satisfaction.

Duties

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory, and staff management
  • Lead and supervise retail sales associates to achieve sales targets through effective team management and motivation
  • Manage merchandising strategies to optimize product placement, pricing, and promotional displays
  • Handle customer service issues with professionalism, ensuring a positive shopping experience
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, cashiering duties, and POS transactions accurately
  • Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new staff members
  • Assist with payroll processing, scheduling, and training & development initiatives for team members
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with purchasing decisions, and coordinate stock replenishment
  • Implement marketing strategies to promote store products and increase foot traffic
  • Maintain organizational standards through effective time management, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks
  • Ensure compliance with store policies, safety regulations, and company procedures

Qualifications

  • Proven supervisory or retail management experience with strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
  • Proficiency in POS systems, merchandising software, and basic math for pricing and bookkeeping tasks
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Experience in recruiting, training & development, budgeting, and sales management
  • Demonstrated ability to handle customer service issues with professionalism and tact
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and promotional activities within a retail environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating independent decision-making skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in retail management is preferred
