BKOM Studios is looking for a talented and self-motivated Visual Effects (VFX) Artist to design and create the most spectacular moments in our games for the PC and console markets.
NATURE OF THE POSITION : Contract until March 2026 with a strong possibility of extension.
The role lies at the intersection of artistic creation and technical optimization. We are looking for a professional with a flexible profile and strong technical skills who embodies our values.

As a VFX Artist, your role is to be the visual magician of our projects, where every task is an opportunity to apply our core values:
Humility and courage
- Collaborate closely with the Art Direction and teams to understand the creative vision. Accept feedback with humility while having the courage to propose innovative visual and technical solutions (e.g., advanced use of Niagara and Blueprints for dynamic effects).
- Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges related to effects integration, daring to experiment with new tools or processes to improve rendering and efficiency.
- Design, create and optimize all visual effects (particles, materials, textures, shaders, etc.) with meticulous attention to quality and performance.
- Ensuring the integration of effects into game engines, while guaranteeing compliance with console technical constraints and framerate objectives. This includes the advanced use of the Niagara VFX system, Data Tables and Blueprints).
- Estimating work time, managing priorities and meeting deadlines with strong autonomy and a keen sense of responsibility.
- Sharing expertise on pipelines and tools (especially Unreal Engine 5), Niagara, Data Tables, Blueprints) to help the artistic and technical team progress in creating optimized effects.
- To simplify complex technical concepts and ideas to ensure clear and effective communication with non-specialist teams.
- Work location: Quebec (Hybrid Mode).
- Experience: Relevant experience (3-5 years) as a VFX Artist in the video game industry.
- Education: Degree in 3D animation, VFX, or equivalent experience.
- Engine specialization: Excellent knowledge of Unreal Engine 5. Proficiency in the Niagara VFX system, as well as the use of Data Tables and Blueprints.
- 3D software: Proficiency in relevant 3D tools (Houdini is a strong asset, Maya, 3DS Max, Substance, etc.).
- Art & Technique: Solid understanding of 2D/3D pipelines, Tech-Art principles and optimization.
- Skills: Flexible profile, strong technical problem-solving skills and high level of autonomy.
- Communication: Strong communication skills (English and French, spoken and written) and ability to simplify complex situations.
- Advanced interest or specialization in a discipline related to Tech-Art (tools, rigging, lighting).
- Knowledge of Shader (writing/modification) or image processing.
- Knowledge of programming languages (C#, Python, Mel Script, Max Script, JavaScript).
- Nature of the contract: Contract until March 2026, with a strong possibility of extension.
