Lacombe Outreach School is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and adaptable teacher to join our specialized team supporting our unique hybrid learning program for Grades 7-9. This program is designed to provide a flexible and supportive educational environment for students who face challenges in a traditional school setting.

Assignment:

  • Part-time 0.60 FTE temporary replacement teaching position
  • Hybrid Teaching Program teaching students in person and online with a focus on Grade 7-9 students who require a flexible environment with additional social/emotional supports.
  • In-Person schedule (Tuesday to Friday 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.), specific daily hours TBD
  • Duties to commence as soon as possible and will continue until December 19, 2025, with the possibility of extension.
  • Courseload to include Grades 7-9:
  • English
  • Social Studies
  • Mathematics
  • Science

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an Outreach/Alternative school environment would be considered an asset
  • Experience working in courses as mentioned above would be considered an asset
  • Passion for education and commitment to student success
  • Assessment literate
  • Ability to utilize varied instructional Strategies to meet a wide range of individual needs
  • Ability to work independently is essential
  • Ability to teach multiple grades and subjects simultaneously
    Ability to work as a part of a strong collaborative team
  • Must have strong technology and 21st century learning skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to build strong student relationships
  • An understanding of High School Redesign Principles, the Collaborative Response Model, and Differentiation would be considered an asset
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth
