About the role:

The Consulting Engagement Support Specialist plays an essential role in helping Blue North deliver high-quality, thoughtful, and timely work to our clients. Working closely with the Director & Consultant, project managers, and other team members, you'll support the coordination, preparation, and quality assurance of client deliverables across multiple projects.

In this role, you'll support meetings and project workflows by preparing materials, documenting discussions, summarizing key decisions, and helping keep timelines and action items on track. You'll also review deliverables to ensure they meet our standards for accuracy, clarity, and consistency. Beyond client work, you'll contribute to internal initiatives such as process improvements, documentation updates, and planning activities that help strengthen our consulting practice.

This is a collaborative, detail-oriented role suited to someone who enjoys organizing information, creating clear and polished materials, and supporting teams in delivering excellent work. You'll have opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues, broaden your skills, and contribute meaningfully to both client projects and internal operations.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Prepare presentations, reports, and materials for client and internal meetings using established templates and tools.
  • Capture meeting outcomes by summarizing key decisions, updating action trackers, and supporting follow-up activities.
  • Support project coordination by helping keep timelines, milestones, and deliverables on track alongside the Director and project team.
  • Review client deliverables for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and formatting to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Provide short-term coordination support when Project Managers are away, with clear guidance and team support.
  • Conduct external research and summarize insights to support client projects and internal learning.
  • Develop and document processes, insights, and procedural information in clear, accessible formats.
  • Contribute to client-facing and donor-facing materials (e.g., proposals, stewardship content, documentation, business rules).
  • Support internal initiatives including documentation updates, process improvements, and light reporting.
  • Participate in annual planning and help refine project frameworks and internal processes.
  • Assist with materials for business development and client communications as needed.

You bring to the role:

  • Experience working in project-based and client-facing environments, ideally within consulting, marketing, or other cross-functional roles where deliverables and timelines are essential.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, collaborative team environment, with the ability to adapt as project needs evolve.
  • A willingness to learn and expand your skill set, with support from leadership.
  • A strong sense of ownership over your work, knowing when to ask questions or seek guidance.
  • An ability to review and quality-check deliverables, ensuring they meet requirements and client expectations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate and pivot when goals shift.
  • Reliable workload management skills, including meeting timelines and proactively communicating needs.
  • Comfortable using spreadsheets, slide decks, and word processing tools.

As we grow, Blue North Strategies is committed to creating an environment where employees feel included, valued and heard. We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and encourage applications from all qualified applicants. If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation at any phase of the application or recruitment process, please let the HR representative know.
