Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before patient appointments
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments according to infection control standards
  • Take and develop dental X-rays as required
  • Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring comfort and professionalism
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records using dental management software
  • Assist with impressions, suctioning, charting, and chairside support
  • Provide post operative instructions and basic oral care guidance to patients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas
  • Support front desk or administrative tasks when needed

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Dental Assistant certification or diploma preferred
  • Previous experience in a dental clinic is an asset
  • Knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
  • Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix is an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • Professional appearance and patient first mindset
