HR Generalist
to join our team in Pickering. This is a
standalone HR role
, offering a unique opportunity to take ownership of HR operations and grow alongside a dynamic and expanding company.

Your Role

As our HR Generalist, you'll be the go-to person for all things HR, supporting employees, managers, and leadership with day-to-day HR needs. You'll manage core HR functions, payroll and benefits, health and safety, and liaise with third parties to support grants, apprenticeships and workforce programs. You'll help foster a positive workplace culture and contribute to initiatives that support our team's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires.
  • Prepare employment-related documents (e.g., offer letters, promotions, salary changes).
  • Support offboarding processes including exit interviews and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Administer biweekly
    payroll
    and manage
    employee benefits programs
    .
  • Oversee
    health and safety compliance
    , training, and reporting.
  • Liaise with external partners and government agencies regarding
    grants, funding programs, and workforce initiatives
    .
  • Assist with employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario employment legislation (ESA, OHSA, AODA, etc.).
  • Support recruitment activities including job postings and interviews.
  • Contribute to employee engagement and HR initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as needed.

What You Bring

  • Diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Experience with
    payroll and benefits administration
    (Payworks or similar system an asset).
  • Knowledge of
    Ontario employment and health & safety legislation
    .
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • A collaborative mindset and a desire to grow in your HR career.

Work Details

  • Schedule:
    Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week
  • Location:
    On-site in Pickering, ON
