Your Opportunity
One Permanent Full Time Position.
Capital Power is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Originator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer relationships and structuring transactions across the Eastern Interconnect, particularly the PJM wholesale electricity market.
This role requires a deep understanding of the energy markets, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to execute complex transactions.
You will contribute to our team by:
- Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers in Eastern power markets.
- Transaction Structuring: Identify, negotiate, and structure complex transactions that meet the needs of our customers and align with company objectives.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities and risks within PJM for power generators.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including trading, legal, finance, and operations, to ensure successful transaction execution.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transactions comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on transaction performance and market trends to senior management.
What you will bring to the role:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in energy markets, with a focus on transaction origination and structuring.
Technical and Social Process Skills:
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the Eastern power markets.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible very minimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.
Additional Details:
This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
