We are currently seeking a talented individual to join the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Secondary School team. St. Francis School provides a faith-based, Roman Catholic education within the public school system of Yukon Education. Our school sits on the traditional territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta'an Kwachan Council within the wilderness city of Whitehorse, Yukon. SFACS is a grade 8-12 school of approximately 460 students, serving a diverse cultural population. Our educational professionals facilitate academic excellence and model life-long learning. Position: Temporary Educational Assistant

FTE: 0.5 FTE

Start Date: November 3, 2025

End Date: June 12, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Masters degree or equivalent;
• Experience in working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team;
• Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention;
• Post-secondary training in Exceptionalities Worker Program, Special Education, Teacher Education, Early Childhood Education, Mental Health, Social Services or Medical Services would be an asset;
• Experience working with students with special needs would be an asset;
• Ability to read, write and speak Punjabi would be an asset.

The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications, skills, and knowledge, but also demonstrate suitability for the role and organizational culture:

• Interest in furthering learning and skill development in working with children with diverse abilities;
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and parents;
• Adaptability to cope with a wide variety of situations;
• Ability to work as a member of a team;
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
• Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision;
• Willingness to work in a Catholic learning environment

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Criminal Record/RCMP Check with Vulnerable Sector; to be provided before the first day of employment, dated no more than 3 months prior to your start date
• Standard First Aid Certificate or a willingness to complete within 3 months
• Completion of the Educational Assistant Module by the end of the school year
