We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our team in our Metro location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor, inspect, and report on construction activities and the implementation of all on-site civil-related inspection and test plans
  • Prepare clear and concise field inspection reports, summarizing contractor work, contract progress, and inspection milestones
  • Ensure adherence to municipal and provincial standards, engineering design drawings, and technical specifications
  • Report on and assist with the resolution of unforeseen site and construction issues
  • Coordinate and observe required field testing for new water, storm, and sanitary infrastructure
  • Ensure inspection tasks are completed and recorded in a prompt and accurate manner
  • Perform construction and topographic surveys to aid in design and record drawings
  • Travel to and from job sites throughout Nova Scotia
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed drawings

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Nova Scotia driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and drawings
  • Ability to review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents
  • On-site construction experience considered an asset
  • Good understanding of construction safety
  • Experience with survey equipment considered an asset
  • Excellent technical, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and organize, prioritize, and schedule inspection work
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Appreciates outdoor work
  • Must be available and able to travel frequently throughout Nova Scotia
