We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our team in our Metro location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor, inspect, and report on construction activities and the implementation of all on-site civil-related inspection and test plans
- Prepare clear and concise field inspection reports, summarizing contractor work, contract progress, and inspection milestones
- Ensure adherence to municipal and provincial standards, engineering design drawings, and technical specifications
- Report on and assist with the resolution of unforeseen site and construction issues
- Coordinate and observe required field testing for new water, storm, and sanitary infrastructure
- Ensure inspection tasks are completed and recorded in a prompt and accurate manner
- Perform construction and topographic surveys to aid in design and record drawings
- Travel to and from job sites throughout Nova Scotia
- Assist in the preparation of detailed drawings
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Nova Scotia driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and drawings
- Ability to review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents
- On-site construction experience considered an asset
- Good understanding of construction safety
- Experience with survey equipment considered an asset
- Excellent technical, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and organize, prioritize, and schedule inspection work
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Appreciates outdoor work
- Must be available and able to travel frequently throughout Nova Scotia
