The Quality Control Pipe Inspector works closely with production to identify production rework risk at the earliest opportunity. This is achieved by inspecting in progress and completed pipe installations to assess the quality of the work and provide feedback and coaching to production in areas deficiencies are found. The Quality Inspector also works closely with both Class (Lloyd’s Register) and Customer (Canada) to confirm adherence to rules and requirements related to pipe and mechanical installations.

- Education:

- Red Seal Pipe considered an asset
- CWB Level I / II considered an asset
- NACE 1 / 2 considered an asset
- Community college diploma or university bachelor's degree would be considered an asset
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Inspection Experience in shipbuilding setting considered an asset
- Experience with industrial piping installations, including weld inspection and hydro testing
- Ability to read and understand specifications and piping system drawings (P&IDs)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) considered an assetAbility to deal with conflict and relationship management considered an asset
- All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Inspect completed pipe install job packs
- Inspect pipe segments pre-pressure test for defects
- Complete inspection campaigns based on newly determined risk or trends
- Review ITP inspection record documentation to confirm it meets requirements
- Provide training, coaching, and feedback to Production
- Verify ITP and in-process inspection defects identified by LR, Canada, and IS
