Operations Manager

Location: Burnaby, BC (Hybrid preferred)

Compensation: $65,000–$80,000 CAD

Schedule: Full-time

About the Role

Rocket Accounting is a fast-growing accounting firm serving incorporated businesses across Canada.

If you like building systems, fixing broken workflows, leading people, and creating structure in a fast-moving environment, this role is for you.

Your Mission

Make the firm operate smoothly without the founder being involved in every detail.

You will be responsible for building order out of complexity and helping the business scale through better systems, clearer ownership, and stronger execution.

Key Responsibilities

Operations and Workflow

  • Own and improve client onboarding
  • Design and manage internal workflows
  • Identify bottlenecks and remove them
  • Build and maintain SOPs
  • Enforce standards and accountability

Team Management

  • Coordinate daily work across the team
  • Train staff on workflows and systems
  • Monitor quality and performance
  • Support hiring and onboarding

Client Experience

  • Ensure consistent and professional service
  • Handle escalations when needed
  • Improve turnaround times
  • Reduce errors and confusion

Systems and Tools

  • Improve task tracking and communication
  • Optimize use of workflow tools
  • Create structure where none exists

You Are a Fit If You

  • Have 3+ years experience in operations, office management, or project management
  • Have worked in a small business or professional services environment
  • Are organized, proactive, and decisive
  • Can take ownership of messy systems and fix them
  • Are comfortable making decisions
  • Prefer responsibility over hand-holding
  • Want to grow into a senior leadership role

Accounting experience is a bonus, not required.

Pay and Growth

Starting salary is $65,000 CAD to $80,000 CAD

Long-term growth into a senior operations leadership role is available.
