Job Description

Transportation and Utilities is looking for a temporary full-time Heavy Equipment Operator to join our West County Operations Team. This position will primarily operate a plow truck in winter, as well as various other pieces of heavy equipment such as loader, grader, cat, packers, and backhoe. The position may also have to do general labour duties as needed. Some weekend work and/or longer hours may be required for operations purposes.

This position works out of the West County Shop in Beaverlodge.

Qualifications

  • Class 1 Driver's License and clean abstract
  • Experience towing a trailer
  • Willingness and ability to work long hours including weekends when required
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment (bobcat, packer, backhoe, etc.)
  • Ability to interact with members of the public and coworkers effectively and courteously
  • Physical ability to perform labour duties
  • Ability to use hand/power tools
  • Ability to do basic maintenance on equipment would be an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and an ability to use computers

Additional Information

Typical shifts are Monday - Friday, from 7am to 4:30pm with some extended hours and/or weekends may be required to meet operational needs.

This temporary position will run for 3 months with the possibility of extension.

Hourly Pay: $35.66 to $41.95

This position will be posted until October 13, 2025 at 11:59pm or until suitable candidate found.
