Overview:

​​We're looking for an Operations Support team member to assist our Facilities and Maintenance with the daily logistics of running a backcountry lodge. This is a hands-on, outdoor-focused position that keeps our trails, facilities, and guest services running smoothly, no matter the weather.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport & Logistics: Shuttle supplies and guests to the lodge via snowcats and snowmobiles; occasionally assist with helicopter landings.
  • Snow Management: Clear snow around the base and lodge, up to 20 feet of annual snowfall
  • General Maintenance: Support upkeep of the lodge, sauna, and base facilities.
  • Guest Experience Support: Assist lodge staff and guides to help create an outstanding guest experience.
  • Specialist Events Support: Assist with competitions, film shoots, and photo sessions, helping ensure they run safely and smoothly.

Desired Training & Skills:

  • Driving snowmobiles and quads
  • Chopping firewood
  • Loading and hauling luggage
  • Snow shoveling
  • Operation of light and heavy machinery
  • Chainsaw operation
  • Small engine repair and maintenance
  • General labour and building repair/maintenance

Ideal Candidate

  • Physically fit and comfortable working in challenging mountain conditions.
  • A critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Previous backcountry experience (professional or recreational).
  • Experience operating equipment such as snowmobiles, chainsaws, wood splitters, plow trucks, backhoes, welders, etc.
  • Snowcat driving experience is a strong asset.

Helpful Qualifications (not required but an asset)

  • Avalanche Safety Training (AST 1/OPS 1)
  • Mechanical or maintenance certifications
  • Light or heavy equipment operation tickets
  • First Aid certification
  • Rope access or chainsaw/felling certifications
