Overview:

Snowcat Operator – Part Time / Seasonal

Location: Callaghan Country Wilderness Adventures – Whistler, BC

About the Role:

Callaghan Country Wilderness Adventures is looking for a part-time Snowcat Operator to help maintain our backcountry access road and support grooming operations throughout the winter season. You'll be operating in a remote, high-mountain environment where attention to detail, equipment care, and safety come first.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain PistenBully snowcats for road and trail grooming

  • Perform daily equipment checks and light mechanical maintenance

  • Build and maintain snow roads and support snow management around the lodge

  • Work closely with the operations team to prioritize grooming and access needs

  • Keep accurate logs and ensure all safety procedures are followed

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience operating snowcats (PistenBully or Prinoth preferred)

  • Confident operating in mountain terrain and variable snow conditions

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic repairs

  • Valid driver's license and ability to commute to the Callaghan base area

  • Comfortable working flexible shifts, including nights and weekends

Assets:

  • Experience in remote or backcountry settings

  • Class 3 licence or heavy equipment background

  • Familiarity with the Whistler / Callaghan Valley area
