Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive and Equipment Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience in both dealership and independent shop environments. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques. The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of vehicles, equipment and trailers.

Duties:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, including oil changes, tire service, hydraulics and brake repairs.
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, trailers and equipment to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs efficiently.
  • Work on various vehicle components including transmissions, suspensions, shocks & struts, and alignment systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle's condition.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Must possess knowledge of both Diesel and Gas Trucks and Electrical Trailer Systems
  • Must possess knowledge of small construction machinery including mini excavators and vibratory plows
  • Competence in using various hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Must supply their own basic tools.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of truck air, fuel and hydraulic systems.
  • Must have computer skills and the ability to diagnose and repair truck and trailer electrical systems using scan tools.
  • Welding skills would be an asset.
  • Strong degree of product and technical knowledge.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Flexible to work schedule and extended hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
