Quality Control Inspector

The primary function of the Quality Control Inspector is to perform a variety of incoming, in process, final, mechanical, electrical and electronic inspections of various equipment, devices and assemblies.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

  • Inspect products, parts and assemblies to determine conformance to standards, specifications and inspection procedures.
  • Monitor production for compliance to specified processes and manufacturing requirements.
  • Check all gauges, tools and test equipment for correct calibration.
  • Process all returned products and inspect per specifications.
  • Prepare all necessary paperwork.

Other Functions And Responsibilities

  • Maintain documentation for all equipment, gauges and tools as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all work areas.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities – Safety & Quality

  • All employees are expected to follow government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • All Cambridge employees play a role in the implementation of the site Quality and Safety Policy, which outlines a safe work environment as the foundation for the business unit's goal to create a positive customer experience.

Contact

  • Frequent contact with all levels of personnel.

Direction

  • Perform duties under the guidance of the Quality Supervisor.
  • Receive instructions and work closely with the Senior Quality Control Inspector.

Skill/Knowledge & Other Requirements

  • EDUCATION

  • Minimum level I inspector as defined ASME-NQA-1.

  • From ASME NQA-1:

  • Level 1 Personnel Capabilities: "A Level 1 person should be capable of performing and documenting the results of inspections or tests that are required to be performed in accordance with documented procedures, acceptance standards and/or industry practices as defined in users written procedures".

  • Two years of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities .

  • Or High School Graduation and 6 months of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities.
  • Or completion of college level work leading to an associate degree in related discipline plus 3 months of related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities.

Other Requirements

  • Proficient written and verbal communication
  • Minimum Visual Requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.

  • Work will be performed in office and various production site work environments.
