SUMMARY OF POSITION
As the Housing Support Coordinator, your primary responsibility will include providing support coordination, individualized planning, supportive counselling, crisis support and overall assistance to reach recovery goals of individuals who experience mental health and substance use issues. You will support individuals housed in independent units. You will be working as part of a team, and in collaboration with community partners.
HOURS OF WORK
The Housing Support Coordinator will work thirty-five (35) hours per week, with the hours being flexible to the needs of clients. This position includes staff on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis.
HOURLY RATE: $30.39-$35.97

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in human services/human sciences, or related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a community mental health setting working with adults recovering from serious mental illness.
- Must have a valid Ontario G driver's license, relevant insurance and use of a reliable vehicle.
- Experience in developing and implementing program guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a highly effective communicator with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in a residential setting, and/or working with individuals who have dual diagnosis, concurrent disorders, and acquired brain injury.
- Knowledge of mental health diagnoses, substance use, harm reduction, and recovery focused approaches is required.
- Strong assessment skills and demonstrated ability to assess complex situations and make appropriate decisions independently
- Sound knowledge of community resources.
- Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, electronic record keeping and data collection systems.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and suicide risk assessment preferred.
- Able to successfully complete and provide a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
