Responsibilities
- Deliver quality security services, ensuring adequate personnel are deployed in positions/assignments that are licensed, trained and equipped to fulfill the conditions of the contract
- Manage operational processes and systems, providing regular feedback on service satisfaction
- Demonstrate a customer/client focus, ensuring the clients are continuously kept informed of issues and situations affecting their organization/facility, maintaining an on-going knowledge of their expectations and unique needs
- Envision and create the future, seeking and applying new ways to help the clients by anticipating future needs
- Build a healthy, productive work environment ensuring all processes and activities incorporate safety regulations and standards
- Inspire and lead others, maximizing the human resource potential through effective leadership, ensuring job expectations are clear, performance evaluations and incentives are appropriate
- Demonstrate professionalism, displaying a high level of competency and knowledge in the corporation's business
- Oversee staffing plans, scheduling, payroll, and site setup including patrol checkpoints and post orders
- Lead and support personnel by setting clear job expectations, conducting performance evaluations, and applying appropriate recognition and accountability measures
- Monitor operational efficiency by controlling overtime, training costs, and billing accuracy
- Provide guidance and/or respond to critical security incidents that could disrupt operations or pose risks to public safety
- Support and retain a high-performance operations team with a strong focus on service excellence and employee engagement
- Participate in the Occupational Health and Safety Committee as required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a managerial security role
- Minimum 5 years of full-time experience in the security industry
- 2 - 5 years of industrial experience is strongly preferred
- High school diploma required; college diploma or university degree preferred
- Level WSCC Mine Supervisor Certificate is required
- AST, Basic First Aid, or CPP certifications considered strong assets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent client service and customer relations skills
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to work independently and be proactive
- Ability to solve urgent problems in a calm, professional manner
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Experience using scheduling and reporting software is preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
Working Conditions
The position is based in Yellowknife, NT. The position works from an SSRG office and may work remotely when possible. The position involves sitting and working on a computer in an office environment. Driving to various sites may also be required. The position generally works traditional office hours but may be required to be available outside of scheduled hours to respond to urgent matters that may arise.The position reports to the Director, Uniformed Security and will also involve communicating with clients, contractors and across internal business lines.
